John Burke — Founder
After completing his military service in 1965, John Burke began a four-year HVAC apprenticeship in residential heating, air conditioning, and system design. He spent the next 12 years mastering the sheet metal trade and HVAC installation throughout Philadelphia and the surrounding suburbs — learning every aspect of the craft from the ground up.
John founded Total Comfort Solutions with his brother Jim with a clear goal: provide top-notch HVAC service backed by an unwavering commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. That founding principle has never changed.
John was deeply involved in the industry and the broader community. He served on committees of the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors of Philadelphia, eventually becoming president of the organization. He also served as a board member of the Home Builders Association of Bucks County and was active with Habitat for Humanity.
Bill Burke — Carrying the Torch
Bill Burke grew up in the business. Starting as a teenager, he worked summers in the field alongside his father — learning the trade from the inside out. After earning his business management degree from West Chester University, Bill joined Total Comfort Solutions full-time in 1995.
For the first several years, he continued working in the field before transitioning into management around 2000. Bill took on responsibility for project management, estimating, sales, layout and design, accounting, and overall business operations — setting a new direction for Total Comfort Solutions while honoring everything his father had built.
Under Bill’s leadership, Total Comfort Solutions expanded its capabilities and deepened its reputation as the go-to contractor for HVAC design and installation in the residential new construction and renovation market throughout the tri-county area.

Dawn Burke — A New Chapter
In 2018, Dawn Burke — Bill’s wife — joined Total Comfort Solutions full-time, bringing with her a background in payroll and administrative management. Her arrival marked a new phase of growth and operational clarity for the company.
In 2021, Dawn was named Managing Partner. She oversees payroll, employee benefits, human resources, contracts and certified payroll, software implementation, insurance, and banking. Her focus on systems, planning, and people has strengthened the foundation that keeps Total Comfort Solutions running at a high level every day.
